Long-distance move from Leicester, Leicestershire to Leeds, Yorkshire

Do not even consider hiring Sky Movers Nottingham.

I booked Sky Movers to move my stuff on the 14th of August from Lutterworth Leicestershire .
The deal was :They pick up my goods and store this for an agreed time scale and we agreed a price.
They picked my stuff up ok however came with scruffy old vans no tools etc.
I paid the full amount however, there was an extra £200 to be paid for the storage of an extra 2 weeks.
The alarm bells starting to ring when they starting chasing for the £200 payment daily.
This was about the only time Kieran (who was my contact) bothered to call me.
With 3 days to go before the move to my new address the fun started. Adam ( Said he was an owner) called me to say the guys had double booked by mistake and they could not do that date.
I explained that I had written confirmation of the move date and the this was unacceptable as I was staying in accommodation.
He said he could not do anything about this as he was in London (Think about that for a minute)
We finally agreed to change the date to the following day. I called Adam in the morning of the move (Remember these guys never and I mean never call you back) to find out when my stuff would arrive.
He explained that it will be the afternoon as it’s a complicated job picking the stuff up from the storage depo.. He suggest around 2pm. (They arrived in the dark at 7.00pm).
They guys had another job to do following our unload so were in a mega hurry to unload and get to the next poor sap in Sheffield.
I started to spot the damage to my furniture as its was dumped in my new home.
I was not surprised as the word cowboys was becoming a clear representation of Sky Movers.
When the dust settled and I started to check my stuff the next day I noticed that my Sonus Play 3 was missing. Again not surprised and thought these guys will just palm me off with some nonsense. I decided to move on with life . A few days later I started unpacking my guitars and opened the case of my hand made Alverez Yari acoustic guitar ,value £2k and found an empty case.
This is now theft not just something left in error. I called Adam the evening and he said ‘give me 24 hours’. Rember these guys will never call your back so 24 hours went by and I called him . Just call the police he suggested . I did so and was told that it was a civil matter . I had enough a wrote a review on trust pilot . Now I got as phone call from Kieran first thing in morning telling my review as unfair and that they were working on their insurance to sort this out. He said the form would be in the post to me within 7 days. That was on the 8th of October . So after 51 days ( Not 7 ) and many phone calls later no forms have arrived.
I will likely have to chalk this up to experience and move on however, not before ensuring that no other poor home movers get duped with Sky Movers.

So in summary.
• These guys will come across as very professional . They are not.
• They will make promises and not keep them.
• The will not return calls .
• They will damage your goods.
• You will be a victim of theft of your stuff.

You have been warned

Ray.

Worst experience in my life.

Do avoid this Company! They had promised that they would arrive with my luggage one day after the pick-up day, but they didn't show up in the next four days! I didn't bring enough clothes with me at that time, as most of my clothes were in my luggage and it was so cold in the north at that time. This is absolutely appalling service the company also pride themselves on customer service, I have written, texted and called to the company a million time and every day they told me that my luggage would arrive before midnight. They broke their promise again and again. Eventually, my luggage showed up in the deep night of the fifth day, which is literally MIDDLE NIGHT! And my luggage is delivered by another company with a lot of other people's luggage in a huge, dirty and wet van! It seems that they outsourced they business to some small companies with worse service and did give a [EDIT] on what happened after that! One of my box and my desk lamp are broken. Totally unprofessional I will never use this company again and will be making sure all friends family and colleagues never do either.

Service cost: £336

Official company response

We are surprised in the inconsistencies in your review. First we moved you to Durham not Nottingham which is double the distance. Secondly, your removal which consisted of 2 suitcases, 4 bags and one box was offered as a 'part load service' on 265 miles journey. You agreed to this service as you signed T&C's clause 20b 'share space as a part load service. We cannot be held liable for delays or cancellations on these services that affect your delivery'. We hold your signed agreement for inspection

Further to communication we were trying our best to rearrange another delivery; however we could not confirm an exact date as this would rely on our next confirmed shared space delivery towards up North. We kept you informed of this situation as we were liable of your possessions. Secondly, we received an email 3 days after collection requiring a new update as you was aware of the situation and we instructed that it was on route. A part load service relies on estimated times of arrival and flexibility on delivery as you were one of many drops. You were aware of this as you saved costs on the removal rather than being charged for independent van and booked.

Regarding your damage or dirt we received no notification of this from you strangely, rather to learn from the review. Should you made us aware, we would have dealt with this promptly. We would advise that before agreeing to bookings that you understand the service you have signed up to.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Mostly excellent.

I had a mostly great experience with this company. From the initial house visit to the actual move, everything went very well and timely. The moving people deserve the highest praise because everything was done very well and they even pitched in when I wasn't finished on time with my packing. That was perfect. However, I have one serious criticism: after the move, I wrote an email to the company because our washing machine closing mechanism had been damaged in the process of moving. It got bent out of shape because the door had been left open, and can now only be used with great manual force. I asked whether this could be repaired as everything is supposed to be insured, but received NO response whatsoever! This is not ok - whatever the answer is, you should reply to such an email. All in all: actual moving was stress-free and very professional. Answering emails after the move did not happen.

Service cost: £740

Official company response

We have sent you an email as per your review but unsure if you have received the update.
According to our records, an email regarding follow up was sent 31 July 2014 17-16 seeking response to the washing machine. We have copied the original email for records.

It is unlike UK Removal Company not to follow up emails especially the catalogue of emails communicated prior to the removal. We assumed with the no response that maybe the damage had fixed.

We are sorry that you felt that we he had not followed up, in actual fact we responded asking for more information due the indemnity of the insurance.

If you need assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Avoid at all costs.

I guess it can be true that you get what you pay for but at nearly £700 you might expect a little something.  Initial involvement was good, visit out of hours to conduct inventory check, packaging materials delivered nice and early and good communication by email each step of the way..THEN move day disaster. Arrived on time, vehicle too small for the job, I knew that and the operatives knew it.. started with 3 somehow betweeen departure (not all stuu aboard) and arrival one (the driver) had disappeared. The two remaining guys managed to back into and damage a new neighbours car, drop and break a large fridge freezer, scrape walls anddamage wardrobes. to be fair to trhem they were under pressure. they then had to return to pick up the stuff not able to fit in in the first place 9Another vehicle being sent with an operations manager I was told.. well it wasnt). Purchaser of my property not happy we,re not out on time..eventually van arrived back tyo pick up remaining stuff at 4.50pm and broke down a mile from new house, RAC had to be called, I even tried to help with jump leads in  pouring rain..finally last furniture delivered at 9.20pm so all in all a 12 hour experience for a 28 mile move which cost £680 and the loss of a fridge freezer and dameged wardrobes, plus an extremely upset wife and a very stressed out individual.   Oh an be careful to sign your inventory and read all of the small print as they only pay £40 per item damaged..you have to badger them to get that.. totally shambolic operation at the top (not the guys particularly on my job), awful communication, bare faced mis information at times of need, this is supposed to be a supportive service, Christ I could have taken a day off got 4 mates and 2 Lutons for half the price..tghink about it , I suggest you do before making the same errors I and reading the reviews others have.

Service cost: £680

Official company response

This matter was dealt with and settled within 2 weeks of the date of the removal and money was refunded to the client along with an apology.

In our T&C's it clearly states that there are 2 types of insurance and explains the criteria needed for each. These are standard types of insurance and can be found in most removal companies T&C's.

The staff involved now no longer work for the company.

Of course the pouring rain and the breakdown did not help matters either.

All feedback is taken very seriously here at the UK Removal Company.

House removal.

The sales pitch was goo. I had to phoen to find out if they were coming as tehy were quite late.  Removers were hard woriking. When they said they have clothes rails I aasumed that they were boxed but I was horrified that they just draged my clothes from my wardrobe and hung them all on a clothes rail in the back of the removal truck. You can imagine I had to wash my entire wardrobe of clothes after they grabed my clothes unwraped against their workiing clothes, dropped someome on the ground and the same on arrival ! Some boxes were upside down irrespective of markings/labels on them - luckily as I packed myself very well nothing was broken.  .

Service cost: £600

Official company response

We are sorry that you were unhappy with the service provided.

We have taken your feedback on board and now explain fully to all clients what having a clothes rail entails and if clients prefer we do supply wardrobe boxes upon request.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Luton, Bedfordshire

Poor.

The day didn't start well when they claimed to be stuck in traffic and arrived 3 hours late. They did a reasonable job packing, then said they were going for something to eat then would head to my new address. It is approx. 1.5 hours drive away. They went and bought lunch, ate it on my driveway and threw all the rubbish out of the truck which my partner had to clean up. They left at 3pm. Arrived at my new address 5 hours later at 8pm after claiming to be stuck in traffic again. It is obvious that they double booked and completed the other job at the same time. I have no problem with this if they just told me. On the day when I chased them, they claimed to be "half an hour away" yet still hadn't arrived 2 hours later.  Very unprofessional and just blatantly lied to me numerous times when "stuck in traffic" or "half an hour away" In summary, avoid at all costs. Go with a more professional outfit as these guys are totally untrustworthy.

Service cost: £550

Official company response

We are sorry to hear that you are upset with our service, at times we do find that packing and moving on the same day can take longer than expected.

Whilst we can appreciate your frustration, there was no double booking especially as the vehicle they were in was fully loaded.

As you can understand the departure time is a peak time for school run and home time traffic. We would also like to point out that any journey in a fully loaded Luton will take longer than it would in a car.

One of our managers did make follow-up calls regarding the problems once these were apparent. Of course levels of traffic are something that we can't control.

We do take all feedback seriously and have implemented measures to avoid this sort of situation happening again.

We also have upgraded all our Sat Navs to ones with live traffic updates.

Never again will I use these guys. BEWARE!

Vee who I guess is the sales rep came round for an initial valuation and I found her very professional. However, it would appear that all that was just to get the business because that was where her professionalisim ended. They promised to deliver packing materials on a particular day, but didn't turn up. The delivery was later reschduled and they turend up the second time. I found that the packing material they sent to us, especially the cellotape was very bad quality and kept tearing off. The boxes where also not big enough and I thought they would provide different size boxes to pack both big and small things. I contacted Vee to complain and she said she would contact me to sort out, but never did, so I had to buy my own cellotape and get some biggr boxes. On the day of the move, the guys arrived on time and were pleasant. Unfortunately, although I paid for a wrappig service for my sofas, they were not wrapped. One of teh drivers took the sofa out of teh living room and said it wold be wrapped outside in the van but upon arricing at our destination we realised it wasn't wrapped. We also paid for a clothes rail and they did not arrive with one, so OUR CLOTHES WERE CHUCKED IN the van just like that. These guys are thieves!! Upon arriving at new home, they asked for an additional £150 to be paid before the unpack, because they said that the van was not packed exactly in front of our front door. Mind you, the van had driven through the gate and into our semi detached house and the driver had to take ONLY EIGHT steps to get to our front door.  Yet they felt that that warranted an additional £150. Complete thieves! They threatened us and tried to infuse fear into us, but  of course we refused to pay.  They threatened to drive our stuff back to London and we blocked the van in. They eventually succumbed anyway and off loaded our stuff.  Will never recommend these guys. NEVER!!

Service cost: £690

Official company response

We are surprised that our explanation of the additional charge was not fully understood. We have to trust our clients to give us the correct information regarding their new property parking and so, it was agreed on your contract no parking issues at new location out of London. Equally, it was also noted that the collection address had access issues and arrangements were required to open a barrier, which was followed through. This contract was issued 2 months prior and could be adjusted and updated.

However upon arrival at new location it was found that you had a carry of up to 20metres, more importantly with over grown grass and weeds. This proved very difficult as the unpaved pavement could not be seen and the staff struggled with working conditions of the delivery. It was not a safe environment to unload large furniture.
Please refer to you Terms & Conditions that you read before engaging our services and which were signed.

1. The Quote
Unless otherwise stated …. We may either increase or decrease the price if any of the following have
not been taken into account when preparing our quotation and confirmed by us in writing:
f) Inadequate access preventing free movement of the goods without mechanical equipment or structural
alteration, or the approach, road or drive prevents our vehicles to load and/or unload within 10 meters of the
doorway/entrance, meaning that we have to do extra work.

As you failed to communicate this information, we were within our rights to make a charge. The team had to do extra work, with less staff and more hours. If we were made aware, we could have placed more staff and arranged accommodation for the staff due to extra hour’s rates as the removal was based out of London.

Due to the continual threats made by your partner, and the safety of our staff, as you blocked our lorry with your cars, we made a decision to waiver this fee.

Further to materials, the deliveries were rescheduled as per your removal date that changed four times and only to last minute with a confirmation. Our standard materials are free and therefore, you are not charged, as we are recyclable friendly company. Maybe if you took the packing service with us, we could demonstrate how to seal boxes without it tearing off.

Further to your sofa, it was found that the sofa had expanded it was difficult to get out the old location, and with the additional wrapping it was adding volume whilst moving. If the wrapping remained, the sofa would remain. This was relayed to your partner, who observed the removal process.

We are confident with the pictures & recordings of threats we have, that our small claims would uphold. Likewise, I’m sure other potential movers would be interested in the reliability of your claims and should ask for photographic evidence. Due to disclosure act we cannot place these online, however it is being handled by our legal team, and should we realise your comments of defamatory affects potential movers, we will be back in touch.

Worst removal EVER.

Do not use at any cost! Bunch of amateurs, 'mates' and family members who move your goods in dirty vans, leaving you with missing items and many broken furniture and more. Extremely rude, liars, and impossible to get hold of after the move once you unpack and realise the damage.

They rush, damage your house, and head off to the next job.

(EDITED)

They are to avoid at all cost! We have report it them to the trading standards, HMRC and more.

They robbed me. Avoid avoid.

Vee quoted me £980 for dismantling and mantling my furniture and to take all my goods to Birmingham on the 16th July. This did not happen. Half of my things came and the other half 2 days later. They damaged my property and some items are missing. On the day they charged me another £400 on top after the price was fixed when Vee came and assessed my property prior the removal day. Some of my items including wii fit board, abdo crunch bar and a box of electricals are missing. The company have not answered any of my calls nor emails. Avoid this company if you don't want to be ripped off like me.

I will be taking this company to the small claims court and will be contacting the police.

Britannia Harrison and Rowley.

This Company moved me to my new home July 2017, they had specific packing instructions on just two items, both of which they ignored our instructions and as a consequence both items were broken. One item was a complicated machine and the brake was not discovered until 10 days after our move when the machine was re commissioned for action. The second was a most delicate sculpture which we had had moved before successfully, this time it had just one piece of tissue around it and placed at the bottom of a large box with heavy items on top!! Until they change their working practices I would NOT use this firm again. Compensation for their negligence - nothing!!

Pirates !!

Got a fixed quote after a survey from them of £450.
The van that turned up was not big enough for all of our stuff. Luckily I had access to a Transit which I filled to the top.
When I complained about this I was accused of adding more stuff after the survey visit.
The loaded all of our possessions with our assistance and arrived at the new house at 12.30 and parked up the road.
We had to wait to get the keys until 2.45.
The boss called and demanded we pay £200 waiting time charges.
I informed him that their terms and conditions and quote do not mention any such charges and only says "keys on the day".
I was called a liar and told that if I didn't transfer the money on the spot all of our possessions would be taken to storage.
He was very rude and aggressive towards me and my wife over the phone.
I asked to see the contract details referring to the waiting charges and was ignored and told repeatedly that it was £80 an hour waiting charge.
I will be tacking them to small claims court for my £200 back.
Avoid these pirates at all costs. They are an embarrassment to the removal trade.

Long-distance move from Dartford, Kent to Canterbury, Kent

The whole experience was traumatic.

An overnight storage removal, in torrential rain:
1. They were late to start
2. When the men were starting to remove furniture, no covers were put on the stairs. I had to ask for them. The men found a wet curtain in the back of one van and laid this down. This left wet dirty stains on the cream carpeted stairs. After they left, I bought a carpet cleaning fluid and tried to clean the carpet before the new owners took over the next day. By then, this was the early hours of the morning and I was very stressed.
3. An expensive cream coloured fabric John Lewis sofa bed was clearly stored on its side outside in the rain as when it was sat upright the whole of one arm and side was wet and stained. To this day I have not managed to get the marks off the arm.
4. 1 large (10ft x 7ft) white pure wool rug, was rolled up then stood on the wet drive before being put into a van. I had to go over and tell the men not to do this since it was pouring with rain and clearly the rug was going to get wet. Like the sofa, the rug has been professionally cleaned, but the stains have not come off the whole of one edge of the rug.
5. A large fabric covered Ottoman had bird faeces all down the back, showing that it had clearly been left out in the open over night.
6. The same Ottoman had its fabric scraped off on two corners, so I presume it had been dragged somewhere.
7. One lamp had the plug cut off in order to remove it from a room. (I still have no understanding why it wasn't simply unplugged).
8. A black ebony wedding frame, purchased in Bali and so irreplaceable was smashed into pieces.
9. A Roberts radio had its aerial snapped off.
10. 1 x large black picture frame was scratched and chipped
11. 1 x glass jug smashed
12. 1 x glass smashed
13. A blue clock went missing
14. 1 x garden chair went missing
15. 1 x garden mattock went missing

The men had no pens to mark the boxes, so I supplied the men with fat felt pens to label the boxes (which were never returned)

The men had no scissors to cut the tape used to secure the boxes – again we supplied

Boxes were badly labelled, e.g. 50 boxes were labelled 'K' for kitchen – not really very practical.

One man in particular moaned the whole time, often in front of Jay, about how he wasn't paid to do x, y, z which made us feel very awkward.
Note: delivery address was Hythe Kent, but this website doesn't show Hythe, hence I have put in Canterbury.

Do Not Use.

I cannot express my regret at using this company enough. Missing items, damaged items, failure to deliver service paid for, now appear to be ignoring all communications regarding making amends. We paid £580 for them to move our stuff, from a 2 bed flat (so not too much stuff) to a house less than a mile away plus disassemble and reassemble of a 6 bits of furniure (2 sofas - about 10 screws each, one table - 4 screws, a bed and 2 wardrobes). It was supposed to be done in one day. It wasn't. They were supposed to reassemble items (which we paid extra for). They didn't (sofas they left bolts out of so arms weren't attached properly, double wardrobe they didn't bother with - because they hadn't delivered all parts, said a carpenter would follow up and fix, they didn't). Additionally they broke a mirrored wardrobe door, broke a stair banister and scratched the ceiling in our new house. They also broke an electrical fitting in the flat we were vacating and broke the ceiling (knocked frame out of shape so ceiling tiles did not sit properly). This is in addition to messing us around by not turning up on time, arranging alternative times to be there and still not turning up (they were hours late, not just a few minutes). They also left a lot of mess and rubbish in the property we were moving out of (drinks containers etc) and blocked a toilet, which they considered it appropriate not to clear (yes, it is as bad as you are thinking). We have since contacted them to complain and received an email saying that their complaints team will contact us shortly. They haven’t. Overall we paid a lot of money for a simple move that ended up causing us a great deal of stress, has costs us more money and it appears we are now being ignored with regards to our complaints (we included a lot of detail with regards to their poor timing and communication so they should have all info needed, yet still nearly two weeks later they have not dealt with this despite chasing emails which have had no response). I cannot stress enough how much I regret using this company and how stressful the whole experience has been. DO NOT USE THEM.

Really impressed with UK Removal Company.

I received five quotes for moving from five different companies and I felt UK Removals quote was really reasonable, it was not the cheapest but also not the most expensive so I decided to go with them. From the outset, the ladies in the office were very friendly and helped me with with my booking and followed up our telephone conversations with an email. The removal men turned up on time and were both very polite and courteous and nothing seemed to much trouble for them. They really took the stress out of moving. I had a few fragile items that they really took care of to insure they was not broken/damaged in the transit. They also arranged for all my clothes in my wardrobe to be placed onto a clothes rail and they then placed these straight into the wardrobe in my new home. I am not planning on moving in a long time but I certainly would use UK Removal Company again and recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you guys :O)     .

Have used before and will use again.

The team are always polite and professional. With this particular move there were unfortunate breakages, however, they were honest and didn't try to hide them. Still a shame though. They also didn't have the boxes that we'd ordered for our computers which made me a bit nervous.
Moving is never ever smooth and nobody should expect them to be, BUT the team are brilliant. What I especially like is that they don't let you help with the carrying at all. They're very thorough. They don't take breaks until they're finished.
I have, and will continue to recommend them to other people.

Moving Home.

UK Removals were very flexible as our moving date changed three times. They visited to give a precise quote (not an estimate). The packing materials were delivered as promised an on the moving day the vans and four gentlemen were on time and handled the process with care and efficiency. Our move from a three bed flat to a house 35 miles away was completed by 2.00p.m. You may get cheaper (ours was £900) but if you want your move to happen without hassle I would recommend UK Removals. The move.

If it were possible to give no stars. I would. A very unprofessional company. Their claim of 'we pride ourselves on customer care' could not be any further than the truth. I had arranged for a van and three people to arrive approx 9-10am. Two young men turned up late. There was no third person (the driver). A few items were loaded. Still no driver. After lunch. No driver. When I had rang the company. I had to ring because the staff had no credit on their phones the driver's whereabouts was unknown. His mobile was unavailable and he had not called into the office. I do understand incidents happen. But alternative plans of action should be a priority for a professional company. At approx 3.00 a driver turned up & belongings were finally loaded.Everything at this point was in delay mode. No care was taken. My guitars heads were thrown over shoulder being banged against the wall walking in the passageway. My leather sofa. Scuffed along the floor. My wardrobe bashed against the wall. I made a sculpture 25years ago. It is now missing a leg. Where or when it disappeared? I only noticed it the next day. Finally, we left London in a hurry at approx 5 pm. I should have been at my destination by then. At which they arrived approx 11.30 pm. There was 3 people. Including a new driver and a small child still in nappies and needing warm milk. They collected their payment and offloaded as quickly as possible into storage with no care as to any organization, whatsoever. When I asked the driver to place a few items in a particular place he ignored me. A few times. I know it was late but that was UK removals fault. And they still had a service to provide. I expected a professional service. From start to finish UK removals did not provide this. Moving can be a stressful enough experience without such thoughtless individuals & overall unprofessionalism. It was a very, very long day. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Good service for the price.

There were a few issus of a dirty sofa (easily wiped off) and a few scratches on a table, which had been packed by ourselves. Also a broken cafetiere which was packed by them. However the service was polite and prompt. And the move into the property was difficult with two sets of stairs and a very heavy sofa bad. It took longer than I expected to pack up the van and there was some delay between departure and arrival (due to lunch). One bag got lost in the van, but upon notifying them of it, they drove back to the property a few days later to deliver it.  Overall a good service for the price.

Worst experience ever - just don't do this to yourselves!

That one star given above is way to much. As reported in previous reviews (I wish I had read them before booking this company) - they seemed professional when they first came to our house. It was agreed that they would pack all belongings in the afternoon of Saturday (including dismantling the furniture), load the trucks in the early morning of Sunday and arrive at our new flat in the afternoon to unload and assemble all furniture and belongings, so that we could go back to work on Monday without having to worry. One guy (instead of the promised three) arrived Saturday afternoon, packed about 1/5th of our stuff and, after three hours, stated he had no boxed left and that he had to leave. A phone call to Jay - at the office - made it clear that they were not planning on completing the packing that day. We were promised they would come back Sunday morning at 9am, to pack, dismantle and load everything, so that we could leave to get to the new flat on the train. By 3pm, we were told, they would be at the new flat. On Sunday morning, they arrived at 11.30 in the morning - no phone call to warn us they would be late, and not answering our calls. We had to leave to catch our train and left them with the keys. We were now told they would arrive in Manchester by 5pm. At 11pm, they were still not present at our new flat, not answering any phone calls or notifying us of the delay. Finally, at 11.45pm (quarter to midnight!) they arrived at the property - almost 7 hours late. Needless to say, UK Removals 'completed' the unloading of our belongings over night and left the property - without notifying us - at 7.45am on Monday!! We now live in a residential apartment buildi   ng, so surely, moving in over night was not appropriate. As per agreement, furniture should have been dismantled and reassembled. At 4am during the night of the move-in, 'Ed' - the 'project leader' asked if we 'still wanted the furniture reassembled' (?!!), and of course I confirmed. We agreed that he would notify us once this would be completed. At 7.45am we found that UK Removal had left the property without notifying us (thank goodness I had a new couch delivered a few days earlier so we had somewhere to get a few minutes of rest in-between - else this would have meant no sleep at all). All our clothes were stuffed inside the sloppily assembled bed storage; about 20 boxes of books were stored on top of the bed, with the mattress thrown to the side of it. The wardrobes were assembled even more sloppily, with several parts sticking out or even lying around on the floor and some fastenings not having been used - there is no way to use them in their current state. Indeed, the doors were attached with the upper parts facing down. From the quick look that we took at our place in the morning before leaving for work on Monday, we found that most furniture had suffered damage - broken shelves, shades, wheels and legs. I called the office several times asking for a call back to discuss the 'services' but never heard back. When I arrived back at my London flat, I did find it in a sorrow state - lunch boxes had been left lying around on the balcony, half-empty drink cans just lying around on the floor (carpeted!) - and, as mentioned by previous posters - the toilet had been used and left in a disgusting state, blocked, so that I had to spend two hours unblocking it.   Seriously - why would anyone want to do this to themselves? UK Removals was just 30£ cheaper than the rest, and I am absolutely sure every single of the competing removal companies would have done better. I am still recovering from the experience (given that I was looking forward to my first 'stress-free' move). Just don't bother dealing with them. Shabby, irresponsible and disgusting.    .

Removal.

Very friendly, cooperative and nothing was too much when asked. Everything was taken out and put back in in record times with no damages. Definitely recommend to others. Representative very friendly and explained the whole procedure. The cost of the removal beat all other quotes with packaging included. There was no waiting time charged as we were delayed getting the keys for our new home. The guys were still very patient. It was a very easy experience within a stressful time.

Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Avoid at all costs. It's just not worth it.  First of all the packing materials didn't show up. Two days before the move, we chased them, and they lied and said they had left them with the concierge - but couldn't give a time, date nor name of the person. They promised it would be delivered the same day - seven o'clock at night we get a call saying they are not going to make it. They were finally delivered the day before the move, although there wasn't enough materials to pack up everything.    Manager Vee came around to do the quote, told us we had too much stuff for a Luton (two bedrooms), and that we would have three people moving for us.   On the day, at ten in the morning, two people turned up in a Luton. At around four o'clock, they realized it wasn't going to fit  in the van, so set off for the first trip. Arrived the other end, unloaded some stuff while they were waiting for the third person to show up. He arrived at seven, and they went back to the old address for the rest of the stuff. Unfortunately they left my sofa in the lobby of the block of flats - it could have been stolen, as lots of people have access to this. They arrived back at the old flat, loaded up the van, and left at eight. We didn't see them again until eleven at night! It's a 30 minute drive, and obviously they needed to get dinner, but three hours? No explanation, no apology. Two other members of staff then turned up, and the move was completed by quarter past twelve in the evening!!  The guys were obviously let down by manager Vee, who lied through her teeth throughout. We have never had an apology from her, and her quote was far from the cheapest. Do not let yourself be fooled by her sales speak or the flashy website. I've distributed flyers in my old and new block of flats, telling everyone not to use this company.    .

Highly recemmended.

The staff at the Compnay were professional and polite. The contact and advice before the removal was professional and although they were running late on the day itself, they continuously kept me informed about the delay (due to traffic). On arrival, they were very efficient & swift in removing all my goods. All three guys were friendly, professional and I was happy with the service they delivered overall. Excellent value for money and I would certainly recommend them.

Moving.

I paid £800 to have all items breakable to be wrapped well, which they were, and UK-REMOVALS did evrything for my husband and me as we both disabled and unable to pack anything, so for the price we paid was so cheap as far as we were concerned.  Three men packaged all our ornaments in one day for some 4/5 hours and then put into 'storage' overnight.  Next morning they were on time 10a.m. and three men all very efficiently packed things like our fridge freezer and settees and washing machine etc. and this took another 2/3 hours, so for some 8 - 10 hours really hard heavy work the three men, Simon, Sarone and Ryk were all great.  £800 for all of this - well it was wonderful and well undercharged I would have thought for all the hard manouvering and at the other new home they got everything in and took all packaging off with not a single breakage - magic!!  Three good men and the very nice lady, Vee who was in charge of them and the whole business part, she is a great business lady who 'comes over' as a friend moreso, she is really a great lady!!  The UK-REMOVAL CO. is the best I've ever moved with, and their charge was extraordinary.  Well worth £800 and more!!  100% positive, that this is one if not the best removal company ever!!  I would most certainly recommend these people to anyone wanting to move house.  No complaints.  They did everything so well. We, my husband and I, are now happy in our new home thanks to Vee, and the three men!!  all hard working and very friendly men too.  We all had a good laugh as well as they were working. Thanks. from Chrissie.

House Move.

From start to finish completely satisfied. From the moment Vee visited us at home there was only ever going to be UK removals doing our house move, Vee was very thorough and explained the process in full. On the day of our move the 3 gentleman who came with the lorry were polite and so helpful, took great care in the handling of our fragile items. On arrival at our new home they placed everything exactly where we requested. I would have no hesitation in recommending the UK Removal Company to anyone who is looking to move house.
